Willis O. Lansing of Lewiston, 86, a retired millworker
Willis O. Lansing of Lewiston, 86, a retired millworker, died of causes related to age Wednesday at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center at Lewiston.
He was born May 28, 1910, to Harley W. and Mabel F. Pool Lansing at Oakley, Kan., where he lived until moving in 1912 to Woodland, Idaho, where he attended schools.
From 1921 to 1933 he lived at Lewiston and Avon, Idaho, and attended schools. After completing his education he worked in the woods as a logger.
From 1933 to 1986 he lived at Kelso, Wash. He retired in 1973 after 26 years as a millworker for Weyerhaeuser Corporation at Longview, Wash.
In 1986 he moved to Lewiston, where he lived until his death. He enjoyed fishing, clam digging, woodworking and flower and vegetable gardening.
He is survived by one sister, Thesta L. Poloson of Lewiston. Two sisters, Vella Koch and Lill
Viewing will be from noon until 5 p.m. Saturday at Vassar-Rawls Funeral Home at Lewiston. A graveside service will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Green Hills Memorial Gardens at Kelso.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Idaho Commission for the Blind, 1118 F St., Lewiston.
